Your stay at Saladero includes unlimited use of kayaks, snorkel equipment, nature trails, hammocks and lounge chairs. Guests may choose among a wide variety of activities ranging from adventurous to just plain relaxing. Many guests at Saladero like to spend their first day exploring the property, wandering about the impressive tropical gardens and walking the beach. A complimentary guided tour of the property takes about two hours. Saladero grows a large portion of our own fruits which are enjoyed by guests and animals alike. The maintained 30 acres of cultivated gardens provide host to a wide range of edible plant species including citrus, banana, plantain, avocado, starfruit, guanabana, jackfruit, mango, heart of palm, ginger, papaya, pineapple, yucca, cashew, almond and water apple. Also found are herbs and medicinal plants like ginger, lemongrass, noni, aloe and hombre grande.
There are 3 maintained trails into the primary rain forest, 1/2 mile of beachfront, coral reefs 15 minutes away by kayak, 4 different eco systems to observe the huge variety of bird life and the close by Rio Esquinas mangrove estuary.
Optional tours are: - Horseback riding up to a waterfall. - Rio Esquinas tour by boat or kayak. - Los Mogos coral reef. - Canopy Tour - Casa Orquedia botanical gardens. - Finca Kobo Chocolate Tour -Inshore fishing by boat or kayak - Offshore fishing with local captains.
